Lael and Alyssa

Since I posted pictures of what Lauren has been up to, I figured it was only fair to update you on my two older darlings.

Lael is really enjoying school this year. She is starting to like reading - thanks to some great book series - and that has made all the difference. Lael has also asked to start helping with the laundry and who am I to refuse my child, right? ;-) So she is now responsible for gathering the towels each morning and bringing them down to wash when she has a full basket. It's no secret that Lael has been my most challenging child but we've seen huge improvements in her attitude and behaviors as of late. Praise God! She is really growing into a wonderful young lady for the Lord.

Alyssa is still our little princess. She is beyond excited about starting Friday Program next month. She was also invited to her first non-family member birthday party and she's counting down the days. And there is going to be a pony at the party which makes it way better than her own party with the bounce house and cotton candy machine of course. :-) Alyssa is doing great with school work and all my reservations about starting kindergarten so young have flown out the window.

Josh and I are doing well also. Josh is working tons but we try to keep a good perspective and be thankful for his great job. I'm enjoying all the political debate and am anxiously awaiting November 4. I've volunteered to help with CFA this year and am looking forward to spending Friday mornings at church. Today is our monthly 4H meeting, which keeps us busy. And our first field trip of the school year is coming up quickly. It's amazing to me how quickly the calendar fills up once September begins!
